Team SOP - Patrol Formations

A tactical march is a disciplined, strategic movement of a small group, typically 1-4 individuals in an SHTF context, using stealth, formations, and silent communication to navigate urban or rural terrain while maintaining security and readiness for potential threats.

Tactical Marches

3-5 meters by day, 1-3 meters by night distance. Get to where we are going.

Formations

Train the following three formations with hand signals. Team Leader is in position THREE (not 1 or 2) of stack. For diamond formation, Team Leader will be the left point. If 5+ then middle of diamond.

  • Staggered Column (TL:3). Slice the carrot hand signal
  • File (TL:3). Hand in front of face, face chop
  • Diamond / Modified Wedge (TL:L). Wedge/hang loose

DEFAULT FORMATIONS

  • Wooded terrain, file formation
  • Roads, staggered column
  • Open areas, wedge (diamond?)
