Training - CQB Training Scenario 4: Threat in Empty Office with Casualty in Opposing Room
Objective
Neutralize a threat in a corner-fed room, secure the area, and treat a casualty in the opposing center-fed empty room with a chest wound.
Setup
A long hallway connects Room 1 (center-fed room, e.g., a bare break room) and Room 2 (corner-fed room, e.g., a bare manager’s office), which are opposing rooms (left and right, near and far sides of hallway). One threat (mannequin or role-player, armed) is in Room 2, standing in a random corner. A casualty (role-player or mannequin) is in Room 1, against a wall, with a simulated gunshot wound to arm/leg.
Execution
Team starts in room 1 as if they are in a meeting in a conference room, when hearing shots fired. They exit room 1 into the hallway and push towards the threat in room 2. They will note the casualty in the hallway but prioritizing the threat in Room 2, communicating intent (e.g., “Casualty in Room 1, moving to Room 2!”).
At Room 2’s corner-fed door, 1-man pies the room, communicating observations (e.g., “Threat in right corner!”). 2-man covers the hallway and Room 1’s door.
The team enters room 2 and engages the threat if necessary, using verbal commands (e.g., “Show your hands!”) before firing.
Team returns to room 1 to care for the casualty.
