Training - Draft Group Topics

Administrative Topics

  • Tiered Training: organizing all the training topics into tiers
    • Rifleman Level 1 - Fundamentals - static on line, ready ups, reloads, stand/kneel/prone, contact facing
    • Rifleman Level 2 - move and shoot, agility drills, sked litter drag and shoot, cardio
    • Rifleman Level 3 - add team shit? Objective/scenario based?
    • leadership training, things like taking medical
  • Communications: get more in-person radio and meshtastic/atak days in
  • Specialized Gear: L6/Fightlite belt feds, drones, mortars, launchers, smokes. Train or no? SAR drone manual?
  • Exclusivity? Some groups like oddg run selections, make it hard, filter out people. Likely greatly reduces group size, etc. Separate missions for elite group?
  • Comms - everyone CAN have a radio yes/no?
    • Proposal 1 - yes, everyone acquire, setup, program a radio and train. But during patrol or team scenarios, ONLY tl/sl have them on, everyone else turns them off. Rotate through the roles so that everyone does get practice
    • Add scenarios/drills where fire teams have to communicate between to give practice
  • Medical - (S)MARCH, Red Cross CPR, FIrst Aid, Wilderness survival paid training available through HAVOC
  • Patrol - hand signals, fix night time versions
  • Patrol - formations (file, stag column, diamond, Vee)
  • Patrol - TL and SL positions, revisit on this
  • Patrol - LDA, defined methods/ways to cross, post security
    • Change up patrol to through the woods, bmx trail
  • Patrol - LDA, what happens when you are setting up but then take contact ie non happy path, what do you do, where do you go
  • CQB - Level 1 (past fundamentals?) or whatever second level
  • Vehicle Escape - clean/dirty side, who gets out first, TL calling commands, getting TF out
  • Medical - vehicle casevac with medical
  • Fitness - oddg inspired fitness standards
  • Comms - basic radio shit, programming murs, gmrs, repeaters, team channels
  • Comms - meshtastic with atak (initial day done, need to schedule next after youtubing)
  • Comms - data packets using rattlegram (android device with aprs)
  • Drones - no clue what sub topics would be here, both offensive and defensive
  • Force on force - define and structure, needs to be organized, not interested in turning into high school airsoft battle
  • Security, guarding, checkpoints
  • Night Fighting? Assuming nods, everything above, just in the dark?
  • Vehicle / convoy (scaled up and down, maybe you dont want to be obvious or actual big convoy?)
  • Vehicle - getting in and out, basic gear shake down, safely having a pistol and/or rifle, understanding what works and doesnt, (sob ifak, belt kit)
  • Patrolling - setting up baselines, break down to most basic rules like sectors, dispersion, communication, light noise
  • Every defense, attack, always simpler the plan, the less thinking, the more successful its been
  • Firecrackers? Simulated contact. Blank fire adapters
  • Three options for raids, ambushes
  • Patrol base, location selection may be more important. Overhead concealment
  • Thermal, drones, PNW with tons of threes, brush
  • How to run a training event (e.g. adding AAR, agenda)

Processed

  • Add electric chainsaw, tire patching
  • Knife/blade sharpening
  • Warnord/opord, train to read/write, understand the format. These are ONLY for scenario based training or practice events, not for basic events like range days. e.g. nvg event, how much cloud cover. what do do if you come into contact with civilians or leo
  • Random Redditors: what is general group feeling on opening group up more, advertising, growing, establishing social media presence, etc. How to protect regular members from being doxed
  • Organized Fire Team/Squad: what would be intent/value in trying to "officially" organize the general group into formal fire teams and squads. Mutual assistance clusters?
  • Training Tracker: tracking individual members and which trainings they have taken. Implement pass/fail standards. e.g. your 100m sprint too slow. Visualization for who has pass/failed what, who can help train
  • Convoys: with the reality of events seeing 4-8 dudes show up, can we even pull off convoy training? Yes.
  • Team Roles: do we really see the need/value in trying to define fire teams having specialized roles, vs everyone is a rifleman, and then calling out specialized. But do we specifically train for a medic, drone operator, rto. NO, we already defined basic roles and called out specializations where/when applicable, but otherwise there is a team leader and riflemen
  • Comms - callsigns, individual vs structured? Currently individual, stick to this.
  • CQB - fundamentals, define what this. Page created
  • SUT: add additional offensive training (raids, squad attack) vs the mostly defensive, break contact, retreat
  • Battle Drills (react to contact, getting on line, bounding, peeling, moving and shooting, covering your buddies)
  • Patrol Base - scaled up and down (4 dudes or 12 dudes or 20 dudes). where we would put machine gun, put 2 people for more fire power. Implement in next overnight
  • Online/group call classes? Needs to have a presenter present a very specific thing
  • Sanitary supplies with medical, alcohol, vinegar.
