Scenario 5: Hostage Rescue
Setting
- Deep within the national forest, near a logging road, simulating a makeshift enemy camp
Team Setup
Operate as one cohesive unit but with designated roles.
Objectives
Team Objective
Rescue a "hostage" with minimal engagement, using stealth and tactical movement. Move in using a staggered column for approach.
Individual Objective
Each member must perform a specific role: point man, rear security, medic, rifleman with one also acting as the team leader.
Exercise Details
Setup
- The team approaches the camp under cover of night, using night vision and radio communications for silent coordination
- The medic is responsible for assessing and treating any "injuries" to the hostage or team members post-rescue, applying MARCH protocol
- The team leader uses radio to coordinate movements and give the go/no-go for rescue
- 1-2 opfor team members
Actions
- Practice silent movement, immediate action drills for contact, and exfiltrate with the hostage using the same formation, adapting to any simulated enemy response.
